Samuel Balsiger has been selected as the 2023-2024 Eugene Field Elementary Teacher of the Year!

Samuel has been the physical education teacher at Eugene Field for four years. 

"I have always loved coaching and working with kids. Becoming a teacher allowed me to follow my passion for teaching kids and gave me daily opportunities to positively impact the next generation," said Samuel. "I’m proud of how the Eugene Field students represent our school at the district cross-country and track meets. Watching the students achieve so much in front of a big audience is inspiring!"

He said working with the team at Eugene Field has made the experience enjoyable and helped him grow as a teacher.

"Each student is a unique child that deserves our love and attention every moment they are with us at school. I have enjoyed watching each student achieve things in physical education that take hard work and resilience with each successive class. They truly amaze me!"

Outside of work, Samuel is passionate about the outdoors. He enjoys visiting national and state parks, hiking, camping, and running.
